Ma (間) – The Space Between – Sculptural Vessel
This sculptural ceramic object is inspired by the philosophy of Japanese minimalism, where beauty lives in restraint, silence, and intention. Handbuilt and hand-painted, the piece is designed not as a conventional vessel, but as a contemplative object—one that invites presence rather than function.
Its surface carries a delicate composition of blossoms—each flower painted with care, floating across the form like moments in time. The circular shape creates a sense of continuity and calm, while the central opening introduces a quiet focal point.
The opening itself is intentionally narrow and subtle, encouraging a minimal approach. It can hold a single stem, a few dry flowers, a delicate branch, or even be left empty—allowing the object to exist purely as a visual meditation.
In the spirit of ikebana, where every element holds meaning, this piece invites simplicity:
one line, one gesture, one moment.
Placed on a wall, a stand, or a quiet corner, it becomes a decorative sculpture—a balance between painting and form, between presence and emptiness.
Each piece is entirely one of a kind, carrying the sensitivity of handwork and the stillness of its inspiration.
