My Story

I am Teona Gorgiashvili, a ceramic artist from the beautiful country of Georgia, based in its vibrant capital, Tbilisi. I am the founder of Teio Ceramics Studio, a creative space located in the very heart of the city—where tradition, travel, and personal expression come together through clay.

My journey with ceramics began in 2017, quietly—as a simple hobby, almost by chance.
At first, it was curiosity. But very soon, it became something I could not step away from.

I realized that clay was more than a material—it was a language.
A way to slow down, to listen, to understand myself.
In shaping it with my hands, I found a space where emotions could take form, where thoughts became texture, and where silence could be translated into something visible and tangible.

That moment changed everything.

In 2018, I held my first group exhibition in Georgia, followed by another in 2019—small but deeply meaningful steps into sharing my inner world with others. Around the same time, I began traveling—India, Vietnam, Morocco—discovering different ceramic traditions, techniques, and ways of seeing. Each place left a quiet mark on me, shaping the way I create.

Over time, my work began to travel as well—exhibited in Florence, Eindhoven, Riyadh, and beyond—connecting with people from different cultures, yet often through the same emotions.

At the core of everything I create is a dialogue:
between past and present,
between Georgia and the world,
between function and feeling.

Through Teio Ceramics, I don’t simply make objects.
I create pieces meant to be lived with—
to hold a morning ritual, a shared meal, a quiet evening, a memory.

Every piece is handmade, carrying its own rhythm, its own imperfections, its own presence.

And in each one, there is a small part of my story—
shaped slowly, by hand. 🤍
